Gabriola Island is the most northerly of the southern Gulf Islands also known as the Jewel of the Gulf Islands or Isle of Arts. Gabriola Island is located between Vancouver Island and the mainland of BC, approximately 3 miles (5 km) east of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Gabriola is easily reached by a 20-minute ferry ride from downtown Nanaimo, or by floatplane from Vancouver (15 miles/24 km). (Google Map)
